Open Office

I have a clean ubuntu 11.04 and used the software center to install open office. All the other programs that I have installed through this have appeared in the Applications list but OO does not show. Where do I go to run OO?

Thanks,
K

OO is gone...it's Libre Office now...OO was at a stand-still, Libre took off where OO stopped...

I'd be surprised if Libre is'nt in there (somewhere)...

Yes Libre is there.

Why is there not anything on that? At work I have installed OO on all our machines and we have stopped using MS Office. Is this something where Libre is only for Linux?

No, it's for everyone...but since Oracle took over Sun, the development of OO ground to a halt. A small team forked Libre to continue where OO should have gone. It's aestetical, Libre is OO, just now it's evolving...

As long as there's Java on the machine, it's okay, but...you know this.

Thanks for the 411.

As regards your work machines, I have found that all my Open Office stuff (templates, etc.) has translated seamlessly to LibreOffice.
