open a program from anywhere


Hi,
I need to know how i can link /usr/Local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread
so i could open it up from anywhere i want my just typing in acroread in the terminal..
much like how firefox,emacs would work...

Just find where Firefox is installed; use:

find / -name firefox

Once you know where it is, do the linking:

ln -s /usr/Local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread /*/acroread

*path

ln -s /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread /usr/local/bin/acroread
Or you could add /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin to your $PATH
