Master PDF Editor and/or EVince should be in most repositories of Linus systems or take a look at the suggestions at the link below.

Linux offers a number of pdf readers. My favorite is Okular.

If you right click on a pdf file in most file managers they will give you an option to open the file with a default application or a list of applications assuming one is installed to read pdf's. By the way pdf's can be opened by most document viewers in addition to dedicated pdf viewers.

You don't say what distribution you use. Xubunt uses atril by default but many other document viewer can be installed and used.
