only folders in nautilus

Hi everybody,

I just install Debian Lenny in my computer. When I open Desktop folder that contains subfolders and files (such as pdf), it only displays subfolders but not these regular files. But if I cd into Desktop folder in terminal, it lists both. How can I view them in Nautilus? Thanks.
