Only 4:3 VGA out with Intel N10 integrated/Acer Aspire One AOD257

Linux OS: Ubuntu 10.11
Netbook: Acer Aspire One AOD257
Ext. Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2253bw
Video Card: Intel N10 Family Integrated graphics

When I connect to external monitor it only allows 4:3 and won't go into full screen. When using same monitor and same netbook with Windows 7 through VGA I get better resolution and full screen.

I don't use Ubuntu, I use Debian, which Ubuntu is based on, but you might like to try :-

system > preferences > monitors
