online radio stations


how does one listen to online radio stations with linux? I have Debian etch. Just curious. Thanks in advance...

yeah sure I do through the predefeined stations that Amarok has, I'm lame to add more.

but I use to browse for some strange stations to listen over the internet from http://www.live-radio.net/, like some japanese stations or some crazy american talk shows.

People are mad around the world and not just around me!

Start out by going to an online radio station; for example http://somafm.com. Select the radio station that you would like to listen to by clicking on the 128K mp3. You may, depending on what browser you are using, be asked to open the link using what application. If so, just navigate to /usr/bin/xmms or what ever media player you happen to use.

That should be about it.

After reading your post revenge80200 I went to check out http://somafm.com and ended up listening to the radio all afternoon.
