One all-inclusive simple way to install OpenGL?

I've been using Fedora and Red Hat for quite awhile now (in addition to working with SuSE and Mandrake at some client sites), but only for developing business applications. I gave my son an old laptop and I am trying to wean him from Windows, so I installed Fedora Core 2 on the laptop.

Of course, the first thing he wants to do in order to become comfortable with a Linux environment is to play games.

The problem is that I'm having a terrible time trying to install OpenGL to support gaming programs. I don't have any experience in this kind of graphics software in a Linux OS, and the dependencies upon dependencies upon dependencies leads to more dependencies and getting nothing done.

All of which prompts my son to ask, "why is Linux better?"

So, my question is this:

Is there any simple way to install OpenGL--just one all-inclusive RPM or something? Please?

opengl is a hardware implementation, so it's support is handled by the dirver for your graphics card. as you've not mentioned what cardhe has or what you've done so far to install opengl can't say that much. The only way you'd install OpenGL by itself would be if you were actually installing mesa libraries, which provide asoftware implementation whichnaturally sucks in terms of performance compared to real implementations. if it's an nvidia card, then it IS a doddle... the drivers from include it, and it's just a single module
