Old Mac
 
I've got some old macintosh compies and i would really like to see linux on them. however, i have tried to install linux on them, but i can't even get to boot the disk... so i dont know that this idea is even possible, and i havent been able to find any info about it. so if there is any info, please tell

What models do you have?

How much RAM do they each have?

How big is each Hard Drive?

Have they got floppy-drives only? Or have they got CR-ROMs?

You need a version of Linux that supports the PPC architecture. Can you tell us what is on the disc? Where did you download it from? What is on the label on the disc?

What do you mean by "old"?
e.g. you could have a 128K Mac with no harddrive....That might pose a challenge...;)

Also check the Linux supported Mac's; some old Mac's don't work with Linux. You can find this information on the website of your Linux distribution or you could also Google for it :)
