offline upgrade/install package
 

I m using DSL,installed fedora 8/open suse 10.3/pclinuxOS etc.can browse net /download and dump but whenever try to update/install additional package (via synaptic etc) it fails though I can get the tarballs/rpms by direct download or from magazine cds.Installation mostly fails due to my lack of know how of dependencies/placeings etc.
Are there any add remove manager around which can guide offline(without internet connections).

Are the package managers in question pointing to valid repositories? That sounds like the most likely problem here.
