i've spent time backing up and restoring people's
outlook express mail. they've changed the format
at least once. for a while it was text, then it was
binary database. the point it, you have to be using
the same version of OE, then copy the files over
the ones in windows, and make sure the files are
named the same.

This is not the only answer for you:
http://www.iopus.com/guides/oe-backup.htm
But when you have a MS problem, always use the MS Knowledge Base at http://www.microsoft.com/ under the support button top right of the page.

Try these links.

http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx (I use this one all the time. It works really well and it's free!)

http://www.outlook-express-backup.com/

http://www.amicgames.com/show.php?v=emailsaverxe

Hope this helps!
