odt conversion


bring up .odt doc and save as .doc formating may be changed

This isn't a proper question. You need to try to explain your problem in detail. If you aren't a native English speaker, try using a pattern like "I try to do xxxx, and yyy happens." Then tell us the programs and commands you use, the output, and any error messages you get.

But assuming I understand your post, then yes, you will sometimes find that conversion to or from document formats will cause problems with formatting. It's not always possible to cleanly translate everything in a document. This is true with all format conversions, not just odt<->doc. Sometimes it even happens between different versions of the same format. That's why most programs give you a warning box when trying to save your document to a non-native format.

There's usually not much you can do about it except try to avoid using the formatting features that don't translate cleanly.
