NX Server setup with Fedora 8

Does anyone have any links to setting up NX Free server on Fedora 8? I've got the server, client, and node installed on my Fedora 8 box, and I've got the windows client installed on my XP machine, but can't find any clear directions on where to go from there. My goal is to either use VNC or remote desktop on my XP machine at work to remotely connect to my Fedora 8 box at home. I'd also like to be able to do this without haging to stay logged in on the Fedora box (unlike the remote desktop feature installed on Fedora 8..). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

CH

figured it out using gnome

Disregard post. I got it working with gnome, i get an error when trying to use rdp or vnc, but as long as gnome works, I don't care.

Sounds like you got it working, but just in case you (or anyone else) need a little more helps, I just went through upgrading from freenx to NoMachine's most recent release of NX Server. They have a "free forever" version, and it's more robust than the current freenx version.

Details are found here.

NX Server setup with Fedora 8

This is my first time installing the NX server on fedora 8 and its not working.

I had setup the server on Ubuntu and it was breeze.

Followed the same steps but am not getting the connectivity.

The client disconnects giving
Error: Failure reading from the peer proxy

I would appreciate any advice/help on this.

Regards,
Sohail

Sohail,

You didn't really give enough details for anyone to help you. Which version of NX Server? Which version of the client? Installed through yum or rpm? Connecting from windows?

You might want to see the discussion here.

Sounds like using the client from NoMachine solved the problem for one user.
