nvidida fails to modprobe

hey guys i recently got a nvidida FX 550 OC.. and i installed gentoo 2004.3 release and i cannot get the nvidia.ko to modprobe. it says error inserting.. unknown symbol in module. please run dmesg. so i ran dmesg and this ios what it says

nvidida: Unknown Symbol __VMALLOC_RESERVE

any ideas?

I have an nvidia agp card but don't run gentoo.

I see though that there is a thread on this and supposedly a solution.

Looks like the module built wrong.

yeah i got it working..but like i can't boot xorg... i can';t get the screen to worjk..and if i do only 8 bit runs.. anyone know another way to do xorg besides xorgconfig?
