Nvidia Kernal Problem


I READ the tread about NVIDIA INSTALLATION.
when i typed:
telinit 1
it said shutting down, and hanged......
so i rebooted and then ran NVIDIA....run and it worked and asked me acception of agreement.
then it goes on and say i dont have the kernal, it says it will dl off ftp but it dont cus it dont know i got the web..
then is say it will try to install another way, nut doesent do it
what do i have to do to get it to make this kernal

Occasionally telinit 1 will appear to hang, however if you type something like:
ls
I think you'll find that it's simply not reporting back in a bash line. You can also try:
CTRL + C
