Nvidia/kanotix 64

Hi,

i have been looking for a distribution that really satisfy me, and dont know why, but i feel inside i just did. kanotix.

i have tried SuSe (!@#$ slow), FC3 (headache with stupid normal things: mp3, nvidia drivers...) Kubuntu (good one, bug related to Gnome derivations, ) (HATE GNOME)

anyway, what i wanna say is that KANOTIX 64 till now, uuu such a nice girl.. the only thing i need is to install NVIDIA DRIVERS, so, before i do it, i want to know if someone around here have done it before (Nvidia on kanotix 64 on Compaq presario r3000z) .. just looking for some information before i make it happen.. please help me out..

thanks.

I haven't done it on your particular setup, but the NVidia drivers work fine on 64 bit Kubuntu, so I would very much expect that downloading the driver from NVidia and installing it (on the command line, not in X-Windows) will work without any problems. Just do it and report problems. The driver works in multiple 64 bit systems under different distros, so the tools are all in place.

Peace,
JimBass

I just did this the other day with the newest Kanotix 64.

Do not use the old scripts. New scripts are built in. You should get the script list by using this > update-scripts-kanotix.sh

sudo install-nvidia-debian.sh > I think this will do it.
