nVidia drivers not installing with debian x86_64
Gives me a bunch of kernel errors, I just need to get into mozilla firefox in a GUI! I've been on task for three days slowly learning.
In exact words: "No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel;" ... Then it asks for permission to download a kernel. When I hit yes I get... "No matching precompiled kernel interface was found on the Nvidia ftp site; this means that the installer will need to compile a kernel interface for your kernel." I hit OK "Error: Unable to find the kernel source tree for the currently running kernel, please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the 'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel source files are installed, you may specify the kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path' commandline option." I have no clue what to do, can someone please point me to what I need to do? (Think holding my hand and walking me through it, I don't know any commands for it other then startx, wget, and believe sh executes a file.) Sorry for the noob needs. |
Got into KDE, feels like a low refresh rate, but says it's at 85 HZ...I guess I'll get used to it. I hope.
If you guys know how to manually set your refresh rate up higher, tell me. |
