Then the installer says that i havent got a precompiled kernal.
It trys to download one from Nvidia.com but fails.
What is wrong with it???
Ive seen on sites something called yum. ive never herd of it. What is it???
Thanks in advance any help with be grateful. Could you give me any answer in a much detail as possible without turning my head inside out any more than it is :P
You'll have to install the kernel-source package from the Fedora CDs, then the nVidia driver should compile. You might have to kill the X server by doing 'telinit 3', or the installation won't (as far as I can remember) work.
Don't attempt to download the kernel source from Nvidia, just continue the installation without it. For some reason on Fedora Core, the nvidia installation goes ahead without the kernel source. You may also find this thread useful.
