NVIDIA 5600 monitor problem with RH9

This is for those running an Nvidia Geforce FX5600 or any others that are having similar problems. That is your monitor going blank or turning black after linux startup or during the installation.

If you having a problem with your Graphical user interface installation and you have done the text installation go to http://www.linuxiso.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14198. It will tell you exactly what to do... unlike anyone else on this forum.

I struggled for 3 days on this forum and if this site isn't helping you i suggest trying out a different forum. I am a new to linux and those who are have problems similar to mine or problems ingeneral know the poor, dancing around the real answer feedback given by most hardcore linux users.

i actually told you to pick "nvidia generic" in the xf86config setup, which is exactly what is in that guys config
<- quote from your link ->
Quote:
Section "DEVICE"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nv"
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "GeForce FX driver (generic)"
VideoRam 262144
note the Driver "nv" which is the nvidia generic driver ..
so don't go blaming me and others that helped you that we were in fact no help, because what is in that thread is exactly what we told you ..
