Number of hops along a route using AODV protocol in ns2.35

I want to have the number of hops along a route i.e. hop count in AODV using ns2.35. I want to get this value from bns2.35 inbuilt codes i.e.from .cc files.So, how can I get this ?

You write your code to do it. There are THOUSANDS of programming/scripting examples for NS2 and AODV, with sample code.
