Question Num Lock

Is there an easier why to turn on num lock at startup. I am not comfortable yet doing the command functions. I think I can follow adding the commands okay but I don't understand where the starting point is.
Can you give a helping hand to this Newbie?

You can turn it on from the BIOS setup too. Enter into the BIOS when the computer starts and then check the settings.

How to enter the BIOS or CMOS setup

To change it from inside the OS, it depends on which OS you are using. You can do a google with the OS you are using, for example, "Ubuntu numlock".

It can happen at a couple of different levels in Linux, depending on whether you are running an X server, and if so which desktop/window-manager you're using. On the KDE4 desktop I'm using to write this, I go to the KDE menu --> Computer --> Computer Administration --> Keyboard setting. There's a setting called 'NumLock on KDE Startup' with three choices. Other systems will differ.
