nudian cd-503 external drive

Hello all,

Newbie searching for a little assistance in the hardware department. I have two nudian cd-503 external drives that I put a samsing cd-rw into one and a western digital hard drive 60GB into the other. When I installed my new distro of Mnadrake 9.2, the software detected the cd rom and allowed me to mount it, however, the hard drive which is formatted in fat32 would not come up in any way so that I could mount it. I would really hate to loose all of the stuff on the HD but if that is the problem then I will format. I hope that someone has had a similar problem in the past that can help me with this. Also, the only driver that is on the disc that came with my drives is a Mac OS-X. There are also drivers for windows. Thank you in advance for any help in this endeavor.

Hello,
I've just moved you thread to Linux - Newbie. Member Intro is a good place to say hello, but questions have much better chance to get answers in other forums.

I think your problem is more configuration than hardware related. I don't know about a solution different than editing your /etc/fstab and changing the line about cdrom to a line about hard disk, but I hope there's a better way. I can write more if you wish, but I hope it can be made easier.
