NTSC playback

Hello all.

This is kinda a follow-on from the "DVD Playback" post i did a while ago.

Does anyone have any problems with NTSC discs playing in Xine??? It all works fine for PAL, which is the area im in.. but when it comes to NTSC, the interlacing is terrible.. the picture quality is poor. Im using a Packard Bell EAsyNote laptop... and Mandrake 9.2 with the standard kernel.. also i have installed the ibdvdcss plugin.

Thanks for any help.

Well NTSC is lower quality at around 240 or 480 if you want to count for all the frames for a cost of faster frame per second at about 29.97. Pal is 288 or 576 to get all the frames at 24.95 frames per second.

You can use MPlayer to optimize the movie during playback.
