ntfs partition mount


if i mount ntfs partition there is a problem it dispaly the msg that ntfs partition is not recogniged
plz suggest me how can i handle it..........?

ubuntu live cd should be able to mount ntfs partition, maybe it needs fixing?

Try installing libntfs-3g79 or libntfs10.

Also, please give the full output of the error message.

Ashish : As i told you before, you need to intall ntfs-3g package on your centos spin ? lolzz

One can mount a ntfs without ntfs-3g. The ntfs-3g is a way to write. That feature has nothing to do with mounting. No need to add in more stuff, just yet.

A proper mount command to a ntfs partition should work. So either your command was wrong or your ntfs filesystem is bad. Or some other deal like not working or bad files in linux or really old distro.

If the OP will tell us which linux version he is using and the command he is trying we might be able to help.

If not all we can do is guess.
