NTFS Drive Files [Shares work OK]

I've installed Samba and i have some shares on an ntfs partition that work fine but i can't see the original files that were on the drive when i installed the drive from another windows box.
I could see them at first and deleted a few but since i've configured the shares i can't see the original files ?
TIA

Not sure I follow you.

You took a drive out of a Windows box and popped it into your Linux box. Now, you're able to access some of the files in the NTFS shares on that drive, but not all of them? You mentioned this happened after some configuration change you made. Can you elaborate on what that was?

I've been setting up an Ubuntu Server using 11.04 and i'm using Samba for file sharing .
I managed to get some Shares working that my windows box could see eg: Music , Movies etc but i can't see the files that were on the drive that's mounted with these shares on.
I could see the files before i configured the shares in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file.
I'm doing all this from the command line with no GUI.
Thanks for your reply

So now you can see the shares from the Windows box, but it appears to contain no files (both remotely from the Windows machine as well as locally on the Ubuntu machine)?

Not enough information to know what is wrong.
Is the NTFS drive actually mounted?
Post your smb.conf file.

If the drive is mounted you can see the path of the drive by running one of the following commands.
Code:
mount
df -h
