Nt_status_bad_network_name
This problem seems to come up on this forum frequently, however none of the situations appear to be the same as mine.
Linux box: RH 9.0; Name: tlix
Windows workstation: blue-thunder
No problem connecting to the WS with
//blue-thunder/drive_d password
PDC name: 2k-server
I cannot connect to it (I can "see" tlix from the PDC and access the files)
I use //2k-server/VOL1/data password -U todd and I get this message:
added interface ip=192.168.0.22 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Domain=[WEB01] OS=[Windows 5.0] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
So, Samba finds the PDC, but something is not correct and I need some suggestions as to what I should check.
VOL1 is a drive
"data" is a shared directory
"todd" is a listed user
"web01" is the domain and I have used smbpasswd to authenicate
Is there a way to get more detailed info about the failure?
Many thanks...
