Unhappy ns3 installation

hello everybody,

I am trying to install ns3 on my system fedora6 but it is showing the following error

Waf: Leaving directory `/work/shashankl/ns-allinone-3.11/ns-3.11/build'
Build failed: -> task failed (err #1):
{task: cxx ns3module.cc -> ns3module_7.o}

File "./build.py", line 131, in main

run_command(["python", "waf"])
File "/work/shashankl/ns-allinone-3.11/util.py", line 24, in run_command
raise CommandError("Command %r exited with code %i" % (argv, retval))
util.CommandError: Command ['python', 'waf'] exited with code 1

i have all the pre-requisites for ns3 python 2.4 and gcc 4.1.1 still ns3 is not building and is showin python :not found.
Can someone please tell me how to proceed and explain to me as to what the error is and how it can be rectified.

Fedora 6 is too old for ns-3.11. A contemporary OS like Fedora 14-15,
or the Fedora 12 based CentOS 6 / Scientific SL6 will do.

The prerequisites are :
# yum install \
gcc-c++ flex bison scons python-devel kernel kernel-devel gsl-devel

.

hii,
can you tell me what errors you are facing...and what version of ns3-dev you are using?
or else check out dis page http://wirelesscafe.wordpress.com/
this guy has installed ns3.10 in fc14 ..generally even though the versions are different the steps would be more or less the same..
