These messages are NOT errors and can be ignored:

validate overall report: some tests failed:
./test-all-tcpLinux
to re-run a specific test, cd tcl/test; ./test-all-TEST-NAME

Not really an error.
One failing "group test" is actually very good for a 64bits OS.
That's usually only achievable with a 32bits OS.

( See ns-2.35/tcl/test/ :
You have 108 group tests (test-all*), and 129 individual tests (test*.tcl)).

Smile

Although this is an old post, I happened to find a "possible" solution and I hope this reply can help.
I just had the same problem two days ago. I solved it by forcing Ubuntu to use gcc/g++ 4.4

You can find how to change default compiler on Stackoverflow.

I installed ns-2.35 on Ubuntu 14.04, whose default gcc version is 4.8. I also ran ./validate after the installation and the same test suite failed.
I had installed ns-2.35 on another old machine about a year ago and this problem was not seen. I suspect the version of the compiler might be a reason, so I tried and it solved my problem.
