novell client for linux need help setting up
hi i am tring to setup novell client for linux and i cant get it to work it keeps saying:
error: coukd not mount server ncpmount: server not found (0x8847) when trying to find psy1 any help would be great thanks andy |
It sounds like you don't have ipxutils set up.
Follow the steps in installing/configuring ipx, verify you can see the server (with the "slist" command), and then mount the Novell fileserver: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/IPX-HOWTO.html Good luck! |
If he didn't have the ipxutils installed he
couldn't run ncpmount in the first place... Did you open the interface? ipx_interface add -p eth0 802.2 (or similar ;}) And if you did, have you got the right protocols set-up (compiled into ncpmount)? Cheers, Tink P.S.: I get that error when I try to login into novell at home, too ;) ... which is quite normal since I don't have a server here :) |
Try moving IPX to eth1/trusted interface and see if it works. I had many problems with the firewall not letting me connect.
