Notetaking that can import pdf?
I've been running OneNote in XP in virtualBox, but frankly, I'm fed up with how slow windows is. I've searched a bit though linux note-taking software, but haven't been able to find one I like (yet).
I'm wondering, does anybody know of a linux note-taking program that can import either pdfs or OpenOffice presentation files as images so that I can type notes beside them?
I'm looking for something like Basket, that's meant for typing, not pen input (I don't have a tablet input). Frankly, basket would be perfect, but it can't import pdfs or Presentation slides

You could try searching Synaptic for "note taking"?

Yeah, I've tried that, it's just a matter of sifting through, there's a lot of stuff that comes up, though I find there are not all of them are in the repos (ie tuxcards, which just gives me a bunch of errors when I try to compile). Also, it's kind of the one feature I'm looking for, I've tried numerous programs from the repos, but none of them so far have had the features I want. I was hoping that there would be someone out there who had found and used a program they liked...
thanks!

I'm afraid I'm not one of those people lol.
Basket does look good, but you're right, it doesn't import PDFs or PowerPoints. There may be a feature in OpenOffice to do notes, but I havent used them as yet
Sorry I couldn't be of more help
