NOT stretching non-standard resolutions on widescreen?
Hello, I have an HP 6720S notebook, with an on-board Intel GMA X3100 (GM965) graphics adapter. The best-fit resolution on my display is 1280x800. I would like my applications running in full-screen at lower resolutions (like 1024x768 or 800x600) NOT to be stretched to full wide screen (that's ruining the aspect ratio). I would like them to be either centered on desktop (that would be most convenient) of zoomed to desktop keeping the aspect ratio.
On the commercial operating system that we are not allowed to speak of :), the Intel drivers have an option to set the lower-resolutions to be either centered on desktop, either zoomed while keeping the aspect ratio. Does anyone know how to accomplish that on Linux? |
Which Disto are you using and are you using KDE or GNONE
you can also edit your /etc/X11/xorg.cong where you will see the ratio at which your application are been opened why cant you just resize the programes from the edges |
