Question Not prompted to enter admin password during RH9 install...can't continue

I'm stumped!!! I'm almost at what I think is the end of a RH9 install and notice that I can't enter a password at the "Set Root Password" window. I have no errors and I'm unable to continue without entering this. Would anyone have an idea on what could be causing this?
Any responses are appreciated.

Is the keyboard locked up? does number lock, caps lock work? if so, try to use the tab key, maybe the prompt is just off somewhere.
