NOT just another "how do i use a USB pen drive..."

Hey all...

I've done all of the steps that I've found on the subject, and I get this error listed in "gmesg"...

sda: assuming Write Enabled
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
SCSI error: host 0 id 0 lun 0 return code = 8000002
Sense class 7, sense error 0, extended sense 0
sda:
Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Attached scsi generic sg0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0

It doesn't seem to be assigning it to anything in particular...When I try to mount I get

mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device

Any ideas would be much appreciated...

Try mounting /dev/sda rather than /dev/sda1.
Many USB disks don't contain a partition table.
