Hi Again,

I have another problem. I am able to play Audio CDs through the CD Player. But X-MMS gives me a problem when I try to play MP3s. It loads up fine and I am able to select the desired files and all that. But when I press the Play Button, the scrolling text shows the name of the current file. But the file does not get played. I tried the various options and even re-installed Mandrake. But the problem continues. I know there isn't a problem with the built in soundcard detection because the audio cds play fine (and with great clarity...I may add). But MP3s are a major problem.


Help!!!! I cannot survive my computing experiences without my music!!!!

have you tried playing around with the output plugin in the "preferences" section of xmms . i know this seems very simple but i spent hours trying to figure out why when i pressed play the song position bar wasn't moving and i was getting no sound. it turned out i'm not using oss i'm using esound and i just had to change the output plugin.

it's always the most simple things that you miss.
