Unhappy Not able to listen .mp3 songs in Red Hat 9


Hello friends i'm new linux. I have installed the sound card drivers and even i can listen to test sound. But i am not able to listen any type of songs from CD. Please help me out.

This means you have successfully installed your sound card but do not have any software for playing .mp3 files or cd files. You can use mplayer or its variants for listening to songs. But I do not know if it will support a old flavor like RH9 support for which was dropped long time ago. You should consider upgrading to newer versions like Ubuntu Hardy, Open Suse11, fedora9. If you like Red Hat you can move onto CentOS.
