Is your Nitro 5 the same as either of the ones mentioned here or here?

yup @fido its the same laptop ,i have tried to change the grub commands but it is not helping.

@thakurvijender71, did you mean to mark the thread as [SOLVED]?

Still duckduckgoing, but haven't found much on Nitro 5 and Linux.

There are some problems with Lenovos using Ryzen chips, do you know if Acre and Lenovo share any BIOS?

I think maybe the Lenovo issue may have been fixed in the latest BIOS updates. I have the A485 (Same laptop in a different body, A is smaller/lighter than E), and haven't seen any of the issues in dmesg or logs that are normally associated with these errors, nor have I had a freeze, crash, or cpu#x soft lock since I've had it. I am running no ivrs_ioapic options in my grub commandline.


I am running multiple ivrs_ioapic options for my Dell Inspiron 7375, so am very familiar with the issues.


Just thought I would throw that out there since you referenced the E485 in your link which is very nearly identical to the A485 I have. Completely off topic, I actually WANTED the E485 (expecting it would be cheaper) but managed to find the A485 cheaper than the E...

UPDATE : i have succefully installed kali ,but on virtual box not by dual booting ,the thing is i cannot install ubuntu on VB which is my need as kali is out of my scope now ,if kali is able to install on VB it should be installed on boot loader ,i dont know whats the reason ,i am going to try ach linux and fedora,if anyone of these got installed i will be happy,until then i am marking it solve (in order not to trouble others ).
