not able to enable record function in alsa mixer in Ubuntu 8.1
 

Hi friends,

I am using Ubuntu 8.1 and I can not enable recording function in alsa mixer. I opened volume control and unchecked all the red crosses under the record tab, but everytime I close volume control and come back, the red crosses appears again. What could I do to enable recording?
