noob question, installing nedit

ok, i was trying to install nedit and got the binary , extracted and kept the files "nedit" and "nc" in the /usr/local/bin folder.

now it is installed for root, and root can use the nedit command, but not other users, i tried with permissions n all but no help, but if u got in the /usr/local/bin/ and then run the file "./nedit" it works, for all users, help here.

If it runs for all users when they cd into /usr/local/bin and run ./nedit, then all you need to do is add an alias to each users .bashrc, or make it global by adding it to /etc/bashrc (though you could loose the alias after a system update if bashrc is updated, whereas the individual .bashrc isn't toughed by such an update).

Add this to the alias section of your ~/.bashrc: alias nedit="/usr/local/bin/netit".
