nokia on slackware

Hi all!
I have a Nokia 6260 but my Slackware 12.0 doesn't recognize the phone. I'd be glad if you can help me. I'm using KDE 3.5.7 if this will help you!

You will probably need to reconfigure your kernel to have usb modem support. I haven't used the huge kernel in a while, but I recompiled to support my k610 about to weeks ago. I remember I had to add several modules, one of them was called usb modem, you will need some ppp modules (included in huge as far as I remember). Anyway, there are plenty of tutorials out there on the great web

Hi

Not sure if its on slackware, but on Ubuntu I found a piece of software called Wammu that automatically detected my nokia 5200 and allows me to do practically anything I want

see if there is anything in the slackware repository that can do the same, it might work right out of the box too

Hope this helps

Thank you for your posts. I forgot to say that I'm using an usb cable . I tried with obexftp and the program recognizes the phone but when I try to connect to my nokia I get:
Quote:
Connecting...failed: connect
Still trying to connect
Connecting...failed: connect
Still trying to connect
Connecting...failed: connect
Still trying to connect
root@darkstar:~#
which really sux...

Now for Wammu... I've installed wxPython but when I start the setup...
Quote:
intruder@darkstar:~/wammu-0.24$ python setup.py build
running build
Checking for python-gammu ... found version 0.23 using Gammu 1.15.0 ... OK
Checking for wxPython ... You need wxPython!
what's wrong?
