No X after building 8.2 Mandrake A9250 AVG card and Nokia 446X VDU any idears ?

Hi, Built Mandrake 8.2 "off-the-CDs", recognizes my ISDN card OK and LAN. printing OK. Display is OK during install, but after install on boot no X although set to start at boot. Error message [lots] but following looks “funny”?
(**) FBDev: Graphics device ID: ““ [empty string]

How do I change this? Can I edit /etc/X11/XF86Config direct?
What do I need to put in for an ASUS A9250? Any known bugs / interactions Linux and A9250.
Is my NOKIA 446X VDU correctly ID’ed currently set to Generic | High Frequency SVGA 1024x786 at 70hz?

Mandrake 8.2?
They're up to 10.1 and not even called mandrake anymore. Install something newer.
