no write permission?

iam using suse 9 pro
whenever i try to save a file, or do something, it says i have no write permission, why? i am under root and i've never had this problem until i recently reinstalled suse 9

Can you post the file permissions for the folder, though being root, you should be able to write to any disk. Post anyway.
