Hi,

In Fedora there is
Code:
# which vsftpd
/usr/sbin/vsftpd

and
# rpm -qai vsftpd
Name : vsftpd
Version : 2.3.4
Release : 5.1.3
....
....
if nothing found then it is not installed.

What did your "yum install vsftpd" output printed ?
Maybe it wasn't installed after all...
