No sound with the video...

I am new to linux, so this may be a stupid question...

I would like to watch - AND LISTEN - to some videos (from www.spiegel.de). The visual part of the video is fine, but there is no sound. How do I get the sound with the video???

Thanks for your help

Please give us the particulars on your machine. What distro are you using? What sound system are you using? Does your sound work in general and only doesn't work when you watch videos? What are you using to watch them? What plugins do you have installed?

Stuff like that would be useful.
cheers,
jdk

I am using openSUSE and the sound works ok - I have listened to some online radio stations using Real Player without any trouble. The videos however, play in a Firefox browser and I don't know how to get the sound working.
I know that some online radio stations cannot be listened to on Linux systems and I was wondering if this is the problem with the videos?

Is this a flash player issue or an mplayer issue? It's kind of hard to diagnose when you don't give any examples. Can you hear anything on the youtube site? Also have you checked your mixer settings to be sure that Volume and PCM are set at a reasonable level?
cheers,
jdk
