No sound on Red Hat Linux 9.0
 

Hello,
I recently installed Red Hat Linux 9.0 on my Pentium 4. My mother board is Gigabyte 8IG1000MK. Linux is not able to detect the onboard sound card.

Is there any sound driver available on net as rpm package or in other easy to install form?
I cannot compile the source code.

You will have to search for the driver of your sound card. First find out what is the sound card, then search for it on the net.
You should be able to hit bulls eye ! (Iam sure a search in linuxquestion could also solve your problem!!).

have you try to use the sound detector which is shiped with redhat
