No sound in YouTube!
 

Hi,

I have no sound in YouTube!

I have found many "solutions" to my problem when searching, but none have worked for me.

I am using:
Firefox version 3.0.14
Adobe Flash 10,0,32,18
pulseaudio 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu20.2
flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound 0.0svn2431-3

I have also tried starting Firefox using "sudo firefox" but no help.

Please, anyone out there that knows how to solve my problem?

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Can you hear sound while running audio applications other than web or firefox?
If not then you might need to check and increase sound volume. On terminal type
--- $: aumix (To exit press "Q") or
--- $: alsamixer (to exit Ctl+C)


If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall your firefox and its plugins.

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately I still have no sound in YouTube even after installing ubuntu-restricted-extras.

I can hear sound when running other applications.

Any other ideas?

I have found that the best way to get sound on a youtube video with my debian box is to open the url in vlc if streaming or to use the youtube-dl to download and watch the video later.
