What happens when trying to run alsamixer?

Can you run any of the alsa utilties? (type alsa and then hit tab a few times to see what is displayed) Have you tried using sudo when running these commands?

What do you mean by the "Intel headset"?

I was wondering what "Intel headset" means, also...
I only posted twice before now because MTK asked me what I meant. I was going to drop it.
