No sound in headphone's jack, but I do have sound in Speakers


Hi all,
can anyone help me ?
hardware is thinkpad lenovo r61e.
i use debian
uname -a
2.6.18-6-686 #1 SMP Sun Feb 10 22:11:31 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

lspci | grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

Do you,re distro has KMIx if so try kmix>mixer windows>switches>headphone

Fire up a terminal and run alsamixer. You'll probably find a mute and a volume control in there for your headphone socket.

Running 'alsactl store' (as root user) will save the settings once you've got them how you like them.

doesn't work also.
i have no option in alsamixer for headphone at all. and other volumes are up and unmuted.
