Still no sound 2 of my machines

I have 2 machines no sound on Fedora. One hooked to a monitor through HDMI and the other is is hooked to a TV through HDMI and both using Fedora 34. I also installed Gnome in addition to the Cinnamon desktop. Mainly! It has an option to select TV for the monitor. In the past I used Red Hat and never actually had problems with either sound or video. Red Hat and fedora in the old days had 2 separate programs for sound. One was to select the sound output and the other was to set the options for the monitor or TV being used. Granted by default Sp/Dif is installed and ear phones or speakers. Nice if you are using them. However as soon as you connect to an HDMI TV or even a monitor with an HDMI cord the TV or Monitor is ignored. I am looking for someone with the solution. So far I have received about 10 different methods some short which I have tried and others with lengthy and complex descriptions of what is going down. However! None Have actually said here is what you do. So Here I am asking for a solution. Anyone have answers.

No One as of yet has given an answer or suggestion that worked. I have a monitor with built in speakers. I am using now fedora 35 and still no audio. It still defaults to s/pdif. Which to me makes no sense. Even with the machine I a typing this on which is uefi gpt system I had to struggle to get sound working. I am looking for a simple solution for sound applicable to desktop users who are fed up with the other guy. With that said other than the rude people on this board let me explain. I have an older machine and an older monitor that has integrated speakers connect by HDMI cable. The Machine is no generic with an asus board in it. The monitor is hp W2207h motherboard is a M4A88T-V EVO/USB3. Any Takers.

You know, I actually just dealt with this. Turns out the device had gotten muted, and I had to hit the tiny unmute icon in pavucontrol...

Anyway, am I understanding you that when you go to Settings->Sound, you don't see the HDMI audio under "Output Device"?

Let's do a quick sanity check. Post the result of:

Code:
aplay -l
On my Fedora 35 system, where I regularly switch between line-out and HDMI audio, I get:

Code:
❯ aplay -l

I just want to know if the HDMI audio devices show up in yours.
