No sound

Hi All,

I installed Debian Wheezy with Gnome 3 recently and I'm just getting used to it. I am a Linux newbie. My current problem is that there is no sound through my headset when I use a browser like Firefox or Chromium. I have checked the sound settings tool and things seem ok and I can hear the sound tests on the headset ok. Also, when I play local media files using VLC player, then the sound works fine. It's just in browsers that it doesn't work. Does anybody have any clue please on what this might be?

Thanks,
JT

That's weird, it's started working now. I think all I did was to mute and unmute the sound in the sound settings tool and now I get sound in the browser. Sorry for wasting people's time.
