No Sound
 
Hello.
I Just Installed Linux (Debian 5.0.7) on my iMac G4 powerpc and almost everything works but the sound. Can someone tell me how to fix this ?

What soundcard do you use?

You can usually find this by checking

lspci |grep Audio
Quote:
cat /proc/asound/cards
Also, maybe you will find usefull ckecking this page:
http://wiki.debian.org/ALSA

And make sure you have the current alsa-base, alsa-utils and libasound2.

Run the amixer or alsamixer program to see if you have it on mute.
