No Sound
Hi
I've got a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy sound card but not sound coming out from the speakers. I've tried plugging the speakers into all the ports, the speakers are definitely turned on and all the volumes turned up. If I plug the speakers into the microphone port (red) then I can hear very quiet but highly distorted sound from the speakers. I'm running Linux Mint Debian Edition with Cinnamon. lspci shows this: Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) Code:
Linux lights 3.2.0-3-amd64 #1 SMP Thu Jun 28 09:07:26 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux |
you have 2 audio controllers
Code:
01:09.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 04) |
Hi,
I have disabled the on board sound in BIOS lspci now shows: lspci Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) |
Fixed, knew it'd be easy when I had a clue what to do! (Takes me longer than most! ;) )
In a terminal -> alsamixer -> Find "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack" then press "m". Proceed to jump out your skin as your music proceeds to blast out at full volume. |
